Welcome! This is another branch of my tree that I have spent a lot of time trying to work out, and one on which I still have a long way to go! Allan, Janet (nee BLACK) and four of their five surviving children left Bute, Scotland in early 1853. They sailed from Liverpool on the 25th March aboard the ship "IDA" and arrived in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia on the 12th July 1853. They settled in the Warrnambool area of Victoria. Many thanks go to the numerous MACLEAN researchers that have been a wonderful help to me.
