Philip Doverspike (of L)

This Indenture made the twenty eighth day of February eighteen hundred and eighty.

Between Samuel Shick and A. C. Shick his wife of the Township of Red Bank Armstrong County and State of Pennsylvania of the first part and Philip Doverspike of (of L) of the Township County and State aforesaid of the second part.


That the said party of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and twenty one Dollars lawful money of the United States of America unto them well and truly paid by the said party of the second part at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, Have granted, bargained, sold aliened, enfeoffed, released, conveyed and confirmed, and by these presents do grant, bargain, sell alien, enfeoff, release, convey and confirm unto the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns forever, all the following descibed property, viz:

All that certain of land situated in Red Bank County Township of Armstrong and State of Pennsylvania.

Bounded and described as follows wit:

Beginning at a stone in the center of the Public Road, thence by other lands of said Philip Doverspike south eighteen and three fourth degrees east twelve and 4/10 percel to a post, formerly a stone, thence by the same land south three and one fourth degrees west thirty four and 8/10 percels to a thorn hump, thence by lands of Philip Doverspike of a recent purchase north fourty eight degrees,west twenty five to a percels to a stone in public road, thence along lands of said Samuel Shick of which this is a part, north eighteen degrees east nine and 6/10 percels to a stone in said road, thence along on said road and by the same land north thirty five and one fouth degrees east twenty four and 6/10 percels to the place of the beginning.

Containing three acers and fifty eight percels be the same more or less.

Being a part of a large tract of land suveyed by William Buffington Administrator of the estate of John Hendricks deceased, by deed dated the 18th day of May A. D. 1868 granted by the Orphans Court of Armstrong County, unto Samuel Shick the present grantor, said recited deed is recorded in the Recorders Office in and for the County of Armstrong in Deed Book Vol. 37 Page 195 a reference being there unto had will more fully show a futher chain of title.

Together with all sigulars the said property, improvements, ways, water courses, rights, liberties, priviledges, hereditaments and appurtenances, whatsoever thereunto belonging, or in anywise appertaining and revisions and remainders, rents, issues and profits thereof, and also all estate rights title, interest property, claim and demand whatsoever of the said parties of the first part, in law, equity or otherwise however, of, in and to the same and every part thereof,

To Have And To Hold said being and described tract of land containing with the hereditaments and premises hereby granted or mentioned, and intented so to be, with the appurtenance, unto said party of the second part, heirs and assigns Forever.

And Samuel Shick and A. C. Shick his wife the said parties the first part, doth for themselfs their heirs, executors and administrators, do by these presents, convenant, grant agree to and with the said part of second part, his heirs and assigns, that they, the said parties of the first part, and their heirs, all and singular, the hereditiments and promises herein above described and granted or mentioned, and intented so to be, with appurtenances, unto said party of the second part his heirs and assigns, against them, the said parties of the first part, and their heirs, and against all and every other person or persons whomsoever lawfully claiming, or to claim the same or any part thereof.

Shall And Will Warrant And Forever Defend.

The said parties of the first part have to these presents set their hands and seals.

Armstrong County

On 28th day of February 1880 before me a Justice of the Peace came the above names Samuel Shick and A. C. Shick his wife and acknowledge the above Deed to be their act and deed, and desire to have it recorded.

Said A. C. Shick being of full age, and by me examined, seperate and apart from her said husband, and the content of said Deed being first made know to her declared that she signed, sealed and delivered said Deed of her own free will and accord without cortion or compulsion of her husband.
