46. Seymour ENSIGN

Seymour was a Methodist Minister and in 1805 was stationed in the Black River Circuit which embraced the whole of Lewis Co. N.Y. He was an active business man. In 1811 he built the first grist mill on Bigelow Creek in Stafford, Genesee Co. N.Y. In 1812 he removed to So Warsaw, N.Y. where he erected the first carding and cloth cleaning extablishment in the town; he also built a woolen factory. In 1812 he was a member of the town light infantry; later he moved to Stafford, where he died.
