Burial 30 December 1847 Selborne, Hampshire, England aged 82

There is a burial at Selborne in 1847 for John age 90, 10 years out !
His age in 1841 is 80 which agrees with the burial age
so either he was born well before his parents married
and before he was christened or he added 10 years to his age.
Mary was born c1746 so she can`t have given birth in 1747.
John was born 1740,
so it`s possible Jonah was an illegitimate child of John
and not christened until later
but why wait until after their first child was christened?
I suspect it`s more likely he added 10 years to his age, somehow.
