Birth | 29 January 1901 | Winnipeg City, Manitoba, Canada | Birth registered as Frank [in 1917] born Sutherland Avenue |
As for Franks army days, I would have taken the 1916 census as filled out by the parents, so 1898 would be his right year of birth.
No doubt your father was born 29.01.1901. As he was registered 1917, must have been to do with getting him out of the army. |

Jacob was a Roman Catholic (Holy Ghost Church) I was told he got mad at them and the whole family converted to Anglicanism. I was raised an Anglican. After I joined the force [R.C.M.P.] , St Barnabus Church in Winnipeg built a new building. My mother donated a pew to my father and Alice [Helena] donated a pew to her husband Joe Kitkoski. Years later after my mother died I donated a stained glass window to that church in her memory and Alice [Helena] donated a window to the Hankowski family. from Joseph Hanks |

1149 Selkirk Ave., in Winnipeg. I was raised a block away so I am quite familiar with it. A very small 2 bedroom home for so many in the family (one bathroom) probably long line ups. This property, very old, remained in the family until just before Alice died in 1993. She lived most of her life there.
