Narrative

About Varminare, John
The marriage record shows the groom's name as a line.
It is assumed to be John because of the children born to a John and Mary immediately after the date of the marriage.

The Steep Vestry book has this entry:
05 Feb 1714 Payd Jor.(?) Vermana for a fox 1s

Earlier references in the area are:
Baptism Steep 15 Jan 1627 Peter VARMINAR Father:John
Burial Steep 20 Jun 1673 Thomas FARMINER
These are unidentified, so far - does this suggest a few generations in Steep through the 1600s?
I have now checked the original registers and they are both mis-transcriptions, of Warriner and Jouning respectively.
