Corporal Joseph Fermaner 2/51stRegiment went to Australia 25 June , 1840
He married in 1846, Perth and was discharged from the army 31 March 1847
They settled in Perth and he became a merchant and storekeeper.
They returned to England in 1866 where he became a general merchant and shipping agent in London
Memorial at St Nicholas Church, Tooting Graveney:
'JOSEPH FARMANER formerly of Perth Western Australia died at Tooting 7 October 1899 in his 80th year. CAROLINE wife if the above died April 9th 1905 in her 72nd year. FREDERICK CHARLES FARMANER eldest son died at Cape Town February 2nd 1878 in his 30th year MARY ANN LOVEGROVE eldest daughter died at Kennington December 13 1894 in her 40th yr.'
