George William Farmaner, well known in South Africa as one of the pioneers of the British Chartered Company of Rhodesia.
Died at Bournemouth 7 April 1914 aged 55

In 1889 He joined the British South Africa Police.
4 years later becoming appointed Chief Clerk, Civil Commissioner, at Salisbury.

For a few years he was acting magistrate at Umtali he returned to Salisbury in 1897, and the following year was appointed Civil Commissioner.
