BULLOCK. Born on 19 Nov 1811 in Del Co, PA.[5] John M. died in Wilmington, New Castle Co, DE on 29 Dec 1893; he was 82.[6] He died at the home of his son, William, in Wilmington. Buried in River View Cemetery, Wilmington, DE. Occupation: Stone Mason; foreman for DuPont Powder Co.; and later in business for himself.[6]

Taken from Genealogical Abstracts from Biographical and Genealogical History of the State of Delaware: "BULLOCK, English family emigrated to America in early colonial times. John M. Bullock, s/o Moses and Mary (McCall) Bullock, was b. in Delaware Co., PA in Nov. 1811. Stone mason. 1838 to Brandywine hundred, DE, for a time foreman for the DuPont Powder Co., later in business for himself. He m. Violet Smith, d/o James and Ann, b. Brandywine hundred, New Castle Co., DE. Member P. E. Church. Both John M. and Violet d. at the home of their son William in Wilmington. Mrs. Bullock was 76, John was 83." [6]

On 7 Aug 1834 when John M. was 22, he married Violet SMITH, daughter of James SMITH & Ann UNKNOWN.[46] The Upland Union dated August 12, 1834: Marriage On the 7th inst. by the Rev. J. Walker, Mr. John M. Bullock, to Miss Violette Smith. Born in Brandywine Hundred, New Castel Co, DE.[6] Violet died in Wilmington, New Castle Co, DE.[6] She died at the home of her son William in Wilmington. Aged 76.
