MRS. BETTY COLE
Mrs. Betty Jean Cole, 56, of Damascus, died Wednesday, Oct. 28,
at her home. She was the wife of Lester E. Cole. Born April 10,
1942, in Takoma Park, she was a daughter of Velma Hess Seals of
Damascus and the late Ralph Gordon. Mrs. Cole attended Gaithersburg
High School. She was a homemaker. She was a Protestant. She loved
her cats and working in her flower gardens. Surviving in addition
to her husband and mother are three children, Bennie S. Cole of
Germantown, Cindy Williams of Florida, and Tina Leon of Damascus;
three grandchildren, Shelby Williams of Florida, Ashleigh Cole
of Virginia, and Sarah Beatty of New Market; one sister, Sharon
Gutierrez of Damascus; and two brothers, Eddie Gordon of Damascus,
and Lindy Gordon of Walkersville. Friends may visit from 4 to
6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 1, at Muriel H. Barber Funeral Home, 21525
Laytonsville Road, Laytonsville, where funeral services will begin
at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 2. Interment will be in Germantown Baptist
Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Home Call Hospice
Services Inc., Attention: Foundation, 10200 Old Columbia Road,
Suites M&N, Columbia, Md. 21046.
Medical: The cause of death was due to lung cancer.[163]
