Agnes strikes me as a rather tragic figure. She was widowed in her early 40s or even before that. Going by the census records she brought up her granddaughter Helen McKissock on her own at the cottage at Plantinghead outside Dailly. She ends her days as a pauper, and the informant for her death certificate is a nurse. Her death certificate omits her parents' names and I don't know which part of Ireland she came from. |
