Nine Partners Meeting House

Active cemetery located next to the Nine Partners Meeting House. The Quakers of the Nine Partners patent were the second group to hold their own meeting after the Oblong meeting. This brick meeting house was built in 1780, after their first wooden structure burned. The Quaker house congregation has merged with Lyall Federated church in Millbrook, and use the building in summers.   There are very few graves older than 1870's.

Just east of the Meeting House was located the original site of the Nine Partners School. This school was well known, and educated many influential 19th century citizens, one being Lucretia Mott, the 19th century woman's rights fighter. The current Oakwood Friends School in Poughkeepsie is the descendant of this famous school.
