FIFTEEN POUNDS Reward.
WHEREAS a certain Thomas Wilson, who sometimes goes under the Denomination of a Schoolmaster, near Squire Richison, in Lancaster County, did (on Thursday Night, the third of November Last, at the House of Robert Eitches, Tavernkeeper, at Mill creek, in Lancaster County) violently, and without any Provocation, assault Isaac Leaman, of Lampeter, in said County; and in said Assault most inhumanly bit off Part of his Nose, and also greatly detrimented one of his Fingers, all by the Force of his Teeth, whereby the said Isaac leaman is now visibly much abused. --- The said Assailant is about six Feet high, full faced, cock nosed, fair hair, big Lips, and uncommonly wicked in Conversation. Whoever apprehends said Wilson, and secures him in any Goal in this or the neighbouring Provinces, so as he may be brought to Justice, shall have the above Reward of Fifteen pounds, and reasonable Charges, paid by ISAAC LEAMAN.

Peter Leaman Sr. was born in 1666 in The Emmental of Canton Bern, Switzerland. He died on 11 June 1741 at the age of 75. He was buried in East Lampeter Township, Lancaster CO, PA. Peter was buried in a family plot on the farm but that family plot has been lost and so in 1985 a memorial was placed in the Mellinger Mennonite Cemetery, Lancaster, PA. Peter spelled his last name Leman in his will dated April 29, 1741, however it is spelled Leaman in a number of other sources.

Spouse: First Wife. First Wife and Peter Leaman Sr. were married about 1700 in Europe.³⁵ Peter's first wife probably died in Europe. Her name is unknown. Indications point to the youngest European-born child, Mary, being about six when she immigrated with her father in 1717. Peter probably had been a widower for several years. It cannot be totally ruled out, however, that his first wife could have died on the voyage. Children were: Peter Lehman Jr., Christian Leman, Jacob Leaman, Barbara Leaman, Mary Leaman.

Spouse: Ann Leaman. Ann Leaman and Peter Leaman Sr. were married after 1717 in Pennsylvania. They were early settlers in Lampeter Township, Lancaster, County. Peter Leman was among the first pioneers to receive title to land in East Lampeter Township through a syndicate of London merchants authorized by William Penn. He first purchased 300 acres in 1717 and then added an adjacent plot of 400 acres in 1733 which probably was swamp land at the time. Children were: Henry Leaman, John Leaman, Abraham Leaman, Elizabeth Leaman, Isaac Leaman, Daniel Lehman.
