2. Nathaniel Mann 3 5 (Richard1) was born on 20 Sep 1646 in Scituate, Plymouth, Ma3 and died on 21 Jul 1688 in Scituate, Plymouth, Ma3 6 at age 41.

General Notes: In 1670, Nathaniel Man, eldest son of Richard, sued his father-in-law, Jo hn Cowen, before the Selectmen of Scituate, for "using & improving his hou se & lands" without his order. He was given 89 shillings damages. He appea led to "His Majesties Court", but the appeal was not pleaded.
It is evident he recieved the house, since in 1680 Nathaniel Man made ov er his estate to his brothers, Thomas & Richard, Thomas having signed a bo nd for the support of Nathaniel on account of infirm health.

July 21,1688, Nathaniel Man died suddenly. The verdict was:
"We doe find that the sd. Nathaniel Man hath formerly been troubled with f itts his falling sickness & sometimes hath been distracted & out of his wi tts heretofore & on the 19th of July at evening at the house of his broth er Thomas Man at Conihasset in Scituate aforesaid grievously distract ed or Lunatized & in a raging manner so continued till break of day & th en ran out of the house & tore his clothes off & ran away in the said dist racted frame & on the 20th inst. was found in the scarf of the sea betwe en high water mark & low water mark amongst a body of Rocks lying again st Little Pond & was dead that he running amongst the sd. Rocks they bei ng very slippery did fall upon some of them & wounded his head where of he died."

3. Thomas Mann 3 6 (Richard1) was born on 15 Aug 1650 in Scituate, Plymouth, Ma1 3 7 and died on 12 Jul 1732 in Scituate, Plymouth, Ma (age 81)1 at age 81.

Thomas2 Mann was born in Scituate, Plymouth, Mass. 15 Aug 1650.Children: a ll exc Ensign recorded in Scituate record: Josiah; Thomas (m. D eborah Joy ); Sarah; Mary; Elizabeth; *Joseph; Benjamin; Ensign. His name appea rs in the Old Colony Records, deeds, etc., and he was one of a coron er 's jury 26 March 1677. In 1680 he was "propounded as a freeman for t he ne t year if approved." He prob came into possession of that porti on of his father's estate whereon the buildings stood, prior to 1679. Fr om ti me to time, he added to his lands and estates. There appears more th an twenty transfers to and from him, in marsh and uplands, in the to wn of Scituate. (See Plym. Co. Reg.) In one or two deeds, he is called a w heelwright. Thomas Sr. died in 1732, leaving a will. (see p.62, Mann Memor ial)

Thomas Man, second son of Richard, was the only survivor whose name is kno wn of the ill-fated company of Capt. Michael Peirce annihilated at Attlebo ro Gore, near Pawtucket, in King Philip's War.

Thomas married Sarah Woodworth before 1679 in Scituate, Plymouth, Ma. Sarah was born about 1643 in Scituate, Plymouth, Ma10 and died after 1697 in Scituate, Plymouth, Ma.

+ 6 M    i. Josiah Mann was born on 11 Mar 1678/79 in Scituate, Plymouth, Ma1 3 and died in 17081 at age 29.

+ 7 M    ii. Thomas Mann 3 was born on 5 Apr 1681 in Scituate, Plymouth, Ma1 3 and died on an unknown date.

+ 8 F    iii. Sarah Mann was born on 15 Nov 1684 in Scituate, Plymouth, Ma1 3 and died on an unknown date.

+ 9 F    iv. Mary Mann was born on 15 Mar 1687/88 in Scituate, Plymouth, Ma1 3 and died on an unknown date.

+ 10 F    v. Elizabeth Mann was born on 10 Mar 1691/92 in Scituate, Plymouth, Ma1 3 and died on an unknown date.

+ 11 M    vi. Joseph Mann 11 was born on 27 Dec 1694 in Scituate, Plymouth, Ma1 3 and died about 1747 in Braintree, Norfolk, Ma about age 53.

+ 12 M    vii. Benjamin Mann was born on 19 Feb 1696/97 in Scituate, Plymouth, Ma1 3 and died on an unknown date.

+ 13 M    viii. Ensign Mann was born about 1699 in Scituate, Plymouth, Ma1 3 and died on an unknown date.

4. Richard Mann (Richard1) was born on 5 Feb 1651/52 in Scituate, Plymouth, Ma8 and died in 1738 in Hebron, Tolland, Ct9 at age 86.

General Notes: Richard sold his home in Lebanon, New London, Ct to Timothy Cla rk on 24 J an 1728. He was living in Hebron, Tolland, Ct 14 Jan 1738 wh en a Soldie rs Grant of Land was confirmed by Court. He probably di ed in Hebron at t he home of his son, Nathaniel.Richard was only 3 yrs o ld when his father died and 4 when his mother re-m arried John Cowe n. At 11 yrs of age he was apprenticed to Thomas Hinckle y, the Govern or of Plymouth Colony 1681-1692. He received a grant of la nd in CT for h is service in the Indian War. He deeded the land to my we ll beloved s on Nathaniel a tract of land granted by ye General Assemb ly of ye Mass. B ay, I being one of the shounders (soldiers) in ye former I ndian War and e specially in ye Narrangansette Sortie Fight commonly so cal led. This la nd was in Hebron, Tolland, Ct where the deed is recorde d. It bears the d ate 21 Nov 1728. In 1703 he sold his farm in Scituat e, Plymouth, Ma to h is brother, Thomas.

Richard married Elizabeth Sutton. Elizabeth was born on 20 Oct 1662 in Scituate, Plymouth, Ma9 and died on an unknown date.9
