Neal EAST Will

Lincoln County Book H 1821-1824, p. 135

I, Neal East, of the county of Lincoln and state of Kentucky being in possession of my common mind and memory and taking into consideration the uncertainty of human life do make and declare this to be my last will and Testament hereby annulling and declaring void and no effect all former wills by me heretofore made. It is my will and desire that my family after my decease shall live together as though I were alive and it is my will and desire that my family which live together and is not married or goes off shall keep all of my Estate in their possession that I may die possed (possessed) of real both and personal till the youngest child becomes of age but further it is my will and desire that if any of my family which is single at my decease should get married or go off it is my will and desire that they shall have property or the Estimate amount of what my first children got distributed amongst them when they were married or made up to them when there is an equal division made. It is my will and desire that if any family should think proper to sell or dispose of the place that I may be possessed of at my decease it is my will and desire that the proceeds of it shall (?) vested in other lands so that the real Estate shall not be diminished. I appoint my two sons Josiah East and Nimrod East to be Executors of this my last will and Testament and it is probable that after my decease that the family will be so destitute of of funds that my sons may find it difficult to give security it is my wish and request that my Executors may have letters of administration granted them without giving any security being required of them. It is my request that my executors shall settle pay off all my just debts that may be against me at my decease. I will just name in last of my will and Testament one exception which I have neglected ought to have named heretofore that I will and bequeath Nimrod East my son twenty acres of land beginning at the beginning corner of the survey thence N55 W33 poles to 2 hickorys thence N 35 E up that line to include twenty acres square to Green River for and in the consideration of four dollars per acre for to be reduced of his part when the settlement of the estate is made. Signed by him this 14 day of March 1820.
