Pearl was actually a cousin-in-law since Pearl’s cousin Lucy Jane Winburn had married John William Gividen (born 1844, son of Henry Gividen and Susan Pauline Admire). Pearl married Robert D Jackson in 1905, and lived at New Castle, Henry Co. He was born at Vevay, Switzerland Co IN in 1870. Pearl died at New Castle on 30 Jul 1912. Her death certificate says her parents were “Geo Winburn” and “Mollie Garrett” so we know this is the correct Pearl. Yet although those in charge of filling in the death records knew the death date correctly, they incorrectly figured how many years, months and days Pearl lived, they gave a wrong birth date. Her death record has her birth as 30 Jul 1881, which conflicts with two census records, and she was “31 yrs, 9 mos 17 da” when she died. Subtraction from her known death date shows her birth was 13 Oct 1880, also disagreeing with the 30 Jul 1881 date on her death record. Her husband filled in the personal information for that death record. He later married again, to Bertha T ____ about 1914 and had three more children by 1920. Pearl was buried at New Castle.
