Mahalia Mosely Branham is buried in the old Cox Cemetery, Osborne's Gap,
Dickenson County, Virginia. She was born on November 22, 1822 and died on
December 2, 1912. According to local tradition, Mahalia was half-Cherokee
and was living in a Cherokee camp when she caught the eye of a tradernamed
John Branham. After a brief courtship, they married and settled in the
Cumberland mountains where they raised 10 children.
