The following obituary for Mrs. Carol Helen (Edgerton) George was published in The Evening Times (Little Falls, New York) on Friday, April 23, 2004.

 

“Carol E. George

 

LITTLE FALLS  Carol E. George, 70, of 598 E. Monroe St., Little Falls passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 22, 2004, at Little Falls Hospital after being stricken at home.

 

She was born on March 27, 1934, in Little Falls, the daughter of the late Robert L. and Catherine (Kenny) Edgerton.  She was a graduate of St. Mary's Academy, Little Falls, class of 1952.

 

She was united in marriage to her husband of 48 years, Richard J. George, on June 23, 1956, at St. Mary's Church, Little Falls.  Mrs. George was employed at onetime as a legal secretary for the former James McTiernan Law Office, Little Falls, leaving that position to raise her family.

 

She was a member of the Holy Family Parish of Little Falls and the Rosarians of that church.

 

She is survived by her husband Richard; her son, Richard J. George Jr. of Oswego; four daughters, Lorraine Burger and her husband David of Richfield Springs, Jennifer George and James Camillo of Fairport, Sharon Ewanyk and her husband Jay of Little Falls and Amy Dewan and her husband Craig of Little Falls; six grandchildren, Kristina Burger, Kari Burger, Brittany Camillo, Alex Ewanyk, Brian Ewanyk and Samantha Dewan; her cousin, Sandy Munger and her husband Richard of Little Falls; her sisters and brothers in law, Mary Alice and George Rieman of Little Falls, John and Marilyn George of Little Falls, Robert George of Illinois and Ronald and Jolene George of Little Falls; and several nieces and nephews.

 

She was predeceased by a sister in law, Linda George, who died in April of 2002.

 

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 24, 2004, at 11 a.m. from the Holy Family Parish Church, corner of Main and John streets, Little Falls, were a mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Anthony Ligato. Interment will take place in St. Mary's Cemetery, town of Herkimer.

 

Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann St., Little Falls, on Friday, April 23, 2004, from 5-8 p.m. and to attend the funeral services Saturday morning.

 

It is the wish of the family that contributions in memory of Mrs. George be considered to Hospice Care, Inc., 4277 Middle Settlement Rd., New Hartford, NY 13413.”
