Catherine E. Egerton died at Elmira, New York on March 6, 1892. A copy of her death certificate was filed with the New York State Department of Health (year 1892, certificate #13661). She left a Last Will and Testament, dated June 18, 1889, in which she mentioned her brother Lebbeus Egerton, sisters Mercy C. Egerton and Maria A. Wilson, cousin Florence B. Baldwyn, and niece Kate Egerton Wilson. The will was proved at Elmira, New York on March 30, 1892 before S. S. Taylor, Surrogate, and recorded in Chemung County Probate, Vol. 14, pp. 387 – 389.
