The following obituary for Clyde Lewis Edgerton was published in the Citrus County Chronicle on Sunday, January 23, 2005:

 

“Clyde Lewis Edgerton, 84, Whitney Point, N.Y., died Saturday, Jan. 22, 2005, at Citrus Memorial Hospital in Inverness while visiting his children.

 

He was born in Greene, N.Y., on Dec. 11, 1920, the son of Lawrence and Mary (Wade) Edgerton.

 

Mr. Edgerton served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II.

 

He was an environmental conservation officer for the State of New York. He was an avid outdoorsman, wildlife woodcarver and a fisherman.

 

He was Protestant.

 

Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Jacqueline (DuPois) Edgerton; two sons, Larry Edgerton and wife, Patty, of Syracuse, N.Y., and Roger Edgerton and wife, Peggy, of Inverness; daughter, Judy Carpenter and husband, Clyde Winward, of Inverness; two stepsons, Todd Coleman and wife, Maricar, of Rockaway, N.J., and Scott Coleman of Neptune, N.J.; sister, Shirley Halwig, Greene, N.Y..; five grandchildren, Jeannie, Max, Cameron, Joshua and Casey; and one great-grandchild, Mayia.
