David Edgerton, son of Ezekiel and Lucy (Fales) Edgerton.
Eveline E. Stockwell, daughter of Elijah and Sarah (Pomeroy) Stockwell.

Edgerton was born at Hawley, Massachusetts on June 21, 1811, the son of Ezekiel
and Lucy (Fales) Edgerton. He was
raised in Hawley, but upon his maturity removed along with his elder brothers
to Cuyahoga County, Ohio. The Edgerton
brothers settled in North Royalton Township, just south of the present city
of Cleveland. David
Edgerton was married at Cuyahoga County, Ohio on September 17, 1835 to
Eveline E. Stockwell, daughter of Elijah and Sarah (Pomeroy) Stockwell of
Northampton, Massachusetts. Eveline
was born at Northampton on January 23, 1811.
David and Eveline had two children:
a daughter, Sarah Elizabeth; and a son, Edward E. David
Edgerton died at North Royalton, Ohio on March 22, 1838 at the age of 26
years. His widow returned home to
Massachusetts with the two children, and was remarried on November 7, 1840 at
Northampton to Caleb Hawley Bardwell. At
the time of the 1850
Federal Census, David’s two
children were recorded in the household of their step-father, “Hawley
Bardwell”, in Northampton, Hampshire County, Massachusetts (dwelling #564;
family #532; enum. August 15, 1850).

The younger child, Edward, had been enumerated two days earlier in the 1850 Federal Census, residing with his maternal grandparents, Elijah and Sarah Stockwell, in Northampton, Hampshire County, Massachusetts (pg. 117; dwelling #531, family #651; enum.
