Some Account of the Cone Family in America (William Whitney Cone; Crane & Co., Topeka, Kansas; 1903; p. 197), provides the following biographical excerpt regarding Edward and Fanny (Cone) Edgerton:

 

“Fanny Cone, dau. of Gurdon Cone and Lovina Jones, b. Mexico, Oxwego county, N.Y., Feb. 7, 1800, m. Edward Edgerton in 1820.  He was b. Jan. 16, 1800, and d. in Freeport, Ill., Apr. 19, 1858.  In 1838 he removed with his family to Illinois, going most of the way by wagon.  He settled in Kendall county, and became one of the prominent citizens of that county.  Farmer and lumber-dealer.  She d. Aug. 31, 1861, in Newark, Kendall county, Ill.
