Edward’s widow, “Tirzah Edgerton”, was remarried on April 7, 1866 at East Granby, Connecticut to Edward Spencer of Suffield.  According to the marriage record (VRp 28), Tirzah was aged 45, born in Granby and this was her second marriage.  According to Ruth Cost Duncan’s genealogy of the Case Family (John Case and his Descendants), Mrs. Tirzah (Case) Edgerton Spencer died in June of 1866, aged 48 years.
