At the time of the 1850 Federal Census, Elizabeth was living in Norwich, Connecticut with her brother-in-law, Edward Learned (pg. 111; dwelling #1549; family #1885; enum. October 10, 1850). She was enumerated as: “Elizabeth Edgerton, aged 23, born in New York”.

Elizabeth H. Edgerton died on March 17, 1854, probably at Norwich or New London, Connecticut. She was buried in the family plot at Cedar Grove Cemetery, in New London, where her gravestone was inscribed: “Elizabeth Edgerton, daughter of James Edgerton Jr., died Mar. 17, 1854, aged 33 years”.
