The following obituary for Floridas E. Edgerton was published in The Spokesman Review on September 20, 2006:

 

“EDGERTON, Floridas E. “Ed”, (Age 89) passed away September 14, 2006 at his home in Spokane Valley, WA and went to join his loving wife of 53 years, Maxine.  He is survived by his three daughters Darla (John) Webber, Beverly (Leroy Grover) Harris, and Janice Schuster; seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.  Ed had a colorful life working as a logger, miner, trapper and powder monkey as owner of Spokane Blasting.  He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and “President of the Bank of Grandpa” home of “low interest loans”.  He loved hunting, fishing, and gardening.  He will be truly missed by his family, friends, and neighbors who all loved him.  Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 23, 2006 at Hennessey Valley Chapel.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Hennessey Valley Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315  N. Pines Rd., Spokane Valley, WA.”
