Death of Mrs. Mary Daniels Edgerton of East Hampton.

East Hampton, Aug. 10.

Mrs. Mary F. Daniels Edgerton, widow of Dr. Francis G. Edgerton, died at her home on Miller’s Hill at 7:18 o’clock tonight.  She had been unconscious since 3 o’clock Sunday afternoon.  If she had lived until November 16 [sic] Mrs. Edgerton would have been 90 years old.  Mrs. Edgerton was quite vigorous for one of her years, and up to two years ago had charge of her stock farm, one of the largest in this vicinity.  She was very well known and was usually called ‘Grandma’ Edgerton.  She was born here in 1810 in the house now occupied by Harry B. Brown.  She was one of nince childredn and the last survivor.  She was married to Dr. F. G. Edgerton of Norwich in 1836 [sic].  Dr. Edgerton died in 1870.  Mrs. Edgerton was greatly attached to the scenes of her childhood and preferred to live at her old home instead of with her son, Dr. F. D. Edgerton of Middletown.  Funeral services will be held in the Congregational Church at 3 o’clock tomorrow afternoon.”
