Gardner Arnold Edgerton, son of Henry Arnold and Louise Battelle (Foote) Edgerton.
The
following obituary for Gardner Arnold Edgerton was published in the Evansville Review on Friday, April 25,
1884: “Gardner Edgerton, son of Henry Edgerton, died Monday the 21st inst., in the twentieth year of his age. His funeral took place on the 23d. Rev. T. C. Wilson of Menasha preaching the sermon from first Cor. xiii; 12. Revs. Eldridge of Orfordville, A. J. Brill, of Stoughton, and N. J. Alpin, of this place assisted in the religious services. A very large audience was present to show their last token of respect to the deceased. He was loved by all, and had not an enemy. He was a grandson of the veteran E. A. Foote. His uncle, Rev. J. I. Foote, of Ft. Howard, was also present. He sleeps in the Grove cemetery.” |
