“George D. Edgerton, of Pennsylvania” enlisted on September 5, 1864 at Sullivan, Pennsylvania for service in the Union Army.  He served as a private in A Company; 207th Pennsylvania Infantry Regiment.  (see History of Pennsylvania Volunteers, 1861-1865; 1870)

 

George D. “Edgeton” later applied for a Civil War Invalid Pension on August 3, 1889.  The application was filed from the state of Nebraska and cited George's service in the 207th Pennsylvania Infantry (Co. A).  George’s widow, “Emily Edgerton”, applied for a widow’s pension on January 2, 1915.  She was living in Ohio at the time of the application.  (see National Archives Pension Applications; Application #721463, Certificate #478817; and Application #1039472, Certificate #85883)
