According to the above census record, Mary was the mother of five children, all of whom were still living.  George’s occupation was listed as “casket maker”, Nancy was listed as a “correspondence clerk” and Alice and Helen were noted as “at school”.  The listing of Alice as George’s daughter-in-law is incorrect – she was his daughter.  The “daughter-in-law” designation was probably meant for Nancy, who was George’s step-daughter.  The family was residing on North Division Street.
