1 female “under 5 years”  (daughter Georgiana).

 

At the time of this census, George was residing adjacent to his mother-in-law, Lucretia Miller, and father, Gurdon Edgerton, whose households were enumerated next  on the Norwich Census Roll.

George Hosmer Edgerton died at Norwich, Connecticut on November 10, 1873.  According to the record of his death (Norwich VR, Book 13, pg. 217), he was a merchant, aged 68 years, married, born at Norwich, Ct.

 

Mrs. Catherine (Miller) Edgerton survived her a husband twelve years, dying at Norwich on January 15, 1886.  The record of her death (Norwich VR, Book 16, pg. 190), lists her as “Catherine R. Edgerton, widow of G. H. Edgerton” and states that she had died at “No. Washington Street no. 1”.  The record also reports that she was a housekeeper, born at Norwich, Ct, dau. of Thos & Lucretia Miller.

 

George Hosmer Edgerton and his wife, Catherine, were buried together at Yantic Cemetery in Norwich, Connecticut.  Two of their daughters – Catherine Eliza and Anna Lynch – are buried in the same plot.
