The following obituary notice for George Wightman Edgerton was published by the McKee Funeral Home in Baker, West Virginia:

“George Wightman Edgerton, 90 of Mathias, WV passed away on Saturday, December 13, 2008 at E.A. Hawse Continuous Care Center in Baker, WV.

Born on January 29, 1918 in Morris, NY, he was the son of the late Harry and Emma (Johnson) Edgerton. He worked as a farmer. He was preceded in death by his wife Jean H. Cowan on December 21, 1996. He also is preceded in death by one sister. He is survived by two sons Scott Edgerton of Mathias, WV and David Edgerton of Millington, MD; and one grandson Nathan Edgerton of Singapore. At Mr. Edgerton’s request, his body is being cremated and services will be private.

Arrangements are being handled by the McKee Funeral Home, Baker, WV.”
