Henry Edgerton was born at Pawlet, Vermont in the year 1821. He was the youngest son of Reed Edgerton and his first wife, Betsey Lyon. Henry’s mother died during his infancy.

Very little is currently known about Henry Edgerton. Upon his maturity, he removed to New York City. He was married to Hannah L. ----, a native of Massachusetts. It does not appear that Henry and Hannah had any children.

The following obituary for Henry Edgerton was published in The New York Times on Saturday, June 2, 1860:

“EDGERTON. – In this City, on Thursday afternoon, May 31, Mr. HENRY EDGERTON, in the 39th year of his age. The friends of the family are requested to attend his funeral, from the late residence, No. 281 Hudson st., this day (Saturday,) at 9 o’clock A.M.”
