The following obituary for Howard Ernest Edgerton was published by the Ballweg and Lunsford Funeral Home (Syracuse, New York):

 

“Howard E. Edgerton, 88, formerly of Mattydale, New York, died Tuesday, May 30, 2006 in Sayre, Pennsylvania.


Howard was born in Edward, New York, the son of Howard W. and Eva (Thompson) Edgerton.  He was an Army veteran of WWII.  He retired in 1983 as an electrician from General Electric after 30 years and was a gifted electronic technician.  He amused himself and all the children with some of his off the wall inventions.


He was a Ham Radio Operator whose call letters were WA2GXC.  He was a member of Ham Operators Association, LaFayette Avenue United Methodist Church, Central City Masonic Lodge where he was a 32nd Degree Mason.  He loved and cherished his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and all of their friends.  He was predeceased by his wife, Doris Schwartz Edgerton in 1995 and a grandson, William Palmeter in 1962.


Howard is survived by his two daughters and sons-in-law, Carol (Stewart) Hill of Onondaga Hill, New York and Janet (Tom) Palmeter of Fayetteville, New York; one son and daughter-in-law, Robert (Bonnie) Edgerton of Sayre, Pennsylvania; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
