The following obituary for Mrs. Dana Mildred (Sexton) Edgerton was published in the the Fremont News-Messenger on Thursday, November 13, 1975 (transcript courtesy of Diane Hosler):

 

“Mrs. Hugh Edgerton

 

Tiffin – Services for Mildred Edgerton, 82, a resident of Manor House, were held today in the Turner-Engle Funeral Home.

 

Mrs. Edgerton, a former resident of Bettsville, died Tuesday in Wyandot Memorial Hospital.

 

Surviving are her widower, Hugh Edgerton; Tiffin; a son, William H., Bettsville; two grandchildren; one brother and one sister.”

 

 

The following obituary for Hugh E. Edgerton was published in the the Fremont News-Messenger on Tuesday, January 16, 1979 (transcript courtesy of Diane Hosler):

 

“Hugh Edgerton.

 

Hugh Edgerton, 84, a resident of the Alta Mira Rest Home, Tiffin, died Monday afternoon in Mercy Hospital where he had been a patient since Jan. 12.  Mr. Edgerton had lived at the Kiwanis Manor in Tiffin for five years before moving only recently to the rest home.

 

He was born May 27, 1894, in Emmett County, Michigan, to Will and Sarah (Laugther) Edgerton.  His first wife, the former Lena Martin, died in 1926.  He later married Dana Sexton who died in 1975.  He was also preceded in death by three sisters and a brother.

 

A son, William H. Edgerton, Bettsville; a sister, Bina Smith of Houghton Lake, Mich.; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren are the only survivors.

 

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Engle Funeral Home, Bettsville.  Burial will be in Pleasant Union Cemetery.

 

Visitation at the funeral home will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.”
