from Vassar College in 1943. While
living in Stamford, CT, was on the Boards of the Mianus
Gorge Nature Conservancy and the Southfield Neighborhood Center. Sha also
spearheaded a drive to develop the Bartlett Arboretum and was Chair of the
Stamford Conservation Commission. In Washington, D.C. she was co-developer of
the Chelsea School for dyslexic students. She also spearheaded the
development of the National Bonsai Foundation with the goal of developing a
word-class Bonsai Museum at the U.S. National Arboretum. She taught Bonsai in high school
horticulture classes. Dr.
