According to the above census record, Florence was the mother of four children, all of whom were still living.  John’s occupation was listed as “farmer”, Ralph’s occupation was listed as “Civil Eng.” and the two younger children were noted as “at school”.  The household also included one boarder (Hannah Durham) and two servants (Michael Welch and Mary Ann Maloy).  The elder daughter, Ina Belle, was also recorded in the 1900 Federal Census of Boston City, Suffolk County, Massachusetts (pg. 253; dwelling #29; family #93; enum. June 2, 1900), where she was listed as a “student music”.
