The following obituary for Julius Wesley Edgerton was published in the Greeley Tribune on Tuesday, September 18, 1973

 

“Jule W. (Red) Edgerton, a reporter for the Tribune since September, 1972, died at his home, 2128 28lh Ave. Court, No. 10, just before noon, Monday, Sept. 17.  He was 49.

 

Born in Carbondale, Nov. 5, 1923, he attended the University ot Denver, and also served with the U.S. Navy during World War II, and also in Korea.  He came to Greeley in 1951, and married Bernadine Euker on July 25, 1952.

 

Edgerton was editor for the Journal Publishing Co. from 1951 until he became associated with Ihe Tribune.

 

Surviving, in addition to his wife, Mrs. Bernadine Edgerton, are a son, Michael, at home; two daughters. Miss Kathy Edgerton, a student al Ft. Lewis College in Durango, and Mrs. Sandy Pirolli of Lewistown. Pa., and one granddaughter.

 

Also surviving is his stepmother, Mrs. Olive Edgcrlon of Denver.

 

Services will be at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, in the Macy Allnult Drawing Room.  Cremation.

 

If friends wish, memorial contributions may be made to the Legion Summer Baseball Program.”
