Loren Edgerton was born in Coventry, Connecticut in 1821, the son of Azel Edgerton and his second wife, Parthena Dimmick.  Loren was raised and presumably spent his entire life in Coventry.  Loren’s father died in 1849, and at the time of the 1850 Federal Census, Loren was recorded in the household of his mother, Parthena, in Coventry.

Loren was married in Coventry on September 22, 1850 to Miss Emily Wright Brigham.  Emily was born in South Coventry, on November 1, 1826, the daughter of Daniel and Eliza (Needham) Brigham.  Loren and Emily had only one child -- a son, Frederick L., born in South Coventry in June 1852.  Loren Edgerton died at Coventry on November 27, 1852, aged 33 years.  He was buried at the Nathan Hale Cemetery in Coventry.

Loren Edgerton left a Last Will and Testament, dated at Coventry on December 27, 1853, in which he divided his estate equally between his wife and son.  The will was witnessed by Loren’s elder brother, Austin Edgerton (among others); and Uriah Brigham (probably an in-law) was named sole executor.

According to The History of the Brigham Family (Willard Irving Tyler Brigham; The Grafton Press. New York, 1907; pg. 193), Emily (Brigham) Edgerton died at Hartford, Connecticut on January 20, 1901 as the widow of “A. H. Brown”.  Emily was buried beside her second husband at the East Cemetery in Manchester, Connecticut, where her gravestone lists her as “Emily W. Brigham, wife of Arba H. Brown” and records her complete dates of birth and death.
