Lorenzo’s wife was Margaret (“Peggy”) Palmer, the daughter of Ozias and Margaret (White) Palmer, also of Rome, New York.  No record has yet been found of Lorenzo and Margaret’s marriage, but it probably took place in Rome circa 1823-24.  Margaret was born in New York State (probably Rome) circa 1796.  Lorenzo and Margaret had three children:  a daughter, Harriet, who died in infancy; and two sons, Alonzo Jay and Alonson Gifford.  The family resided in Rome, New York.

The household of Lorenzo Edgerton was recorded in the 1830 Federal Census of Rome, Oneida County, New York (pg. 399), with the following enumeration:

1 male “of 30 and under 40”  (Lorenzo);

In the latter 1850’s, Lorenzo and Margaret removed west, along with the families of their two sons, to Mantorville, in Dodge County, Minnesota.  They resided in Mantorville for the remainder of their lives.
