The Vermont of Today (Arthur F. Stone, Lewis Historical Publishing Co., Inc.; NY, 1929; pg. 327) provides the following brief biography of Malcolm James Edgerton:

“Malcolm James Edgerton…was born in Northfield, January 18, 1886.  His preparation for college was made at Northfield High School, and he was graduated from Dartmouth in the class of 1906 with the degree of Bachelor of Arts.  During the following two years he was an instructor in the Montpelier High School.  But he had always felt a keen interest in finance, and, yielding to this in 1908, he went to New York City and there found employment in a stock broker’s office.  From the beginning he made a keen study of every phase of the investment securities business, and in 1922 he helped to organize the firm of Green, Ellis and Anderson, of which he is still a member.  They do a stock and bond and general investment business, and are members of the New York Stock Exchange.

Malcolm J. Edgerton married, June 7, 1917, in New York City, Edna A. Fischer, daughter of Carl Fischer, the well-known music publisher.  They are the parents of two children:  Malcolm James, Jr., and Janet Fischer.

Mr. Edgerton is a member of the Metropolitan Club of New York City, the Society of Mayflower Descendants, the Society of Colonial Wars, Sons of the Revolution, the Pilgrim Society, Wee Burn Country Club of Noroton, Connecticut, the Stock Exchange Lunch Club of New York City, the Delta Kappa Epsilon college fraternity, and of the Society of Vermont and New England Society, both of New York City.”
