The Last Will and Testament of Mrs. Parthena (Dimmick) Edgerton

 

dated:

June 26, 1869; Andover, Tolland Co., CT.

 

 

   I Parthena Edgerton of Andover, County of Tolland and State of Connecticut being in sound and disposing mind and memory do make and ordain this my last will and testament hereby revoking all other wills by me heretofore made in manner and form following.  That is to say –

   First –  I will that all my just debts and funeral charges be paid by my executrix hereinafter named, out of my estate –

   2nd –  I give and bequeath unto my son Austin Edgerton two bed quilts to be his forever –

   3rd – I give and bequeath unto my grand daughter Maria A. Edgerton to be hers forever my best feather bed, underbed bolster and pillows, one French bedspread and bed cord, two pair linen sheets, four pair of cotton sheets, two pair linen pillow cases, five pair cotton pillow cases, one white flannel blanket, one comfortable four bed-quilts, and twenty five dollars in money to be paid to her by my executrix hereinafter named as soon after my decease as may be practicable.  Should the said Maria survive me – If she should not survive me then I do give and bequeath all of the above articles and money given to my grand daughter aforesaid to my daughter Jane Brown to be hers forever –

   4th –  The rest and residue of my estate of whatever name or nature I give and bequeath unto my daughter Jane Brown to be hers forever –

   Lastly –  I do hereby constitute and appoint my said daughter Jane Brown executrix of this my last will and testament –

   In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty sixth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty nine.
