Phila Edgerton, daughter of Asa Baldwin and Mahala (Moseley) Edgerton.
Phila Edgerton “of Mansfield” was apprenticed to Earl Swift 2nd in 1839 for a term of ten years. According to the indenture, dated June 13, 1839, Phila was bound to “Earl Swift 2nd, of Mansfield, until age 18, which will be May 1849, to learn the trade of housewifery (see Ritter, Kathy A.; Apprentices of Connecticut 1637- 1900; Part 1; pg. 50). Beyond this, there is no further record of Phila Edgerton. |
