The following obituary for Mrs. Rena (Edgerton) Henderson was published in The Hartford Courant on Thursday, April 17, 1997:

“HENDERSON. Rena (Edgerton) Henderson, 74, of East Hartford, died Tuesday (April 15, 1997) at home. Born in Shelburne, she was the wife of Richard Henderson. Mrs. Henderson was a dedicated home health aide for the East Hartford VNA for the last 17 years. Besides her husband, she leaves three sons and two daughters-in- law, Bruce and Carolyn Rogers of Florida; Steven Henderson of Rhode Island; Douglas and Jorja Henderson of East Hartford; a grandson and his fiance, Toby Henderson and Kim Stevens of East Hartford; two step-granddaughters, Erin Hazzard of Manchester and Julia Stavola of East Hartford. Funeral service will be private at the convenience of the family. Family and friends may call today, from 7-9 p.m. at the Callahan Funeral Home, 1602 Main St., East Hartford. In lieu of flowers the family request that all donations be made in her name to The East Hartford VNA, 60 Hartland St. at Founders Plaza, East Hartford.”
