Rennie Dare Edgerton, daughter of Lorenzo Dow and
The
following obituary for Rennie Dare Edgerton was published in the Democrat Argus (Caruthersville,
Missouri) on March 30, 2000: “Rennie Dare Edgerton, 88, died Monday, March 20, 2000,
at the Oak Glen Home in Coal Valley, Ill. She was born January 4, 1912, in Trumann,
Ark., the daughter of the late Lorenzo Dow and Georgia Mae (Davis) Edgerton. She was employed as a bookkeeper at Ark.-Mo.
Power Co. in Caruthersville for 40 years until her retirement. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, and
two brothers. Survivors include two nieces, Lila McDowell of Rock
Island, Ill., and Mary Frances Jung of Atlanta, Ga.; three nephews Everett
McDowell of Lakewood, Colo., Dow Edgerton of Davenport, Ia., and Giff
Edgerton of Alexandria, La.; nine great nieces and nephews, and six
great-great-nieces and nephews. Graveside services were held at Chippiannock Cemetery in
Rock Island, Ill., on Friday, March 24, 2000, 11:30 a.m., with Rev. Dr.
Donald Butz officiating. Hodgson Funeral Home, Ltd. of Rock Island, Ill., was in charge of services.” |
