Rollin H. Edgerton, son of Josiah Wright and Permelia S. (Benedict) Edgerton.

Rollin H. Edgerton, of Walnut Grove, Illinois, enlisted on August 10, 1861 for service in the Union Army.  He served as a private in C Company; 42nd Illinois Infantry Regiment and died at Annapolis, Maryland on December 22, 1864.  Rollin’s younger brother, Gordon Henry, also served in the Illinois Infantry (see Illinois: Roster of Officers and Enlisted Men, 1900).  Rollin’s body was returned home and buried in the family plot at Galva Cemetery.
