The following obituary for William Harris Edgerton
was published in the the Fremont
News-Messenger on Tuesday, July 13, 1993 (transcript courtesy of Diane Hosler):
“William H. Edgerton
Port Charlotte, Fla. – Former
Bettsville resident William H. Edgerton, 74, of Port Charlotte, Fla.,
died July 10. He was born in Pelston, Mich. He lived in Bettsville before retiring to Florida. He worked at the Matlack Co. and was a U.S.
Army veteran of World War II. He was a
member of the Masonic Lodge and the Elks Club. Surviving are his wife, Maxine Heinze
Andrews; daughters Paula Mehki of Arlington, Va., Paulette Alloway and Karen
Murphy of Bettsville and Charlene Ansberg of Sylvania; son Wayne of
Kimbolton; and 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Memorial services will begin at 11 a.m.
Saturday at Zion United Church of Chris in Bettsville.”
