He was born in Philadelphia, and when young sailed with his father and brother John, and after settling in the Bahamas, never left the island of San Salvador (later known as Cat Island), Bahamas, where he had a 240 acre plantation on the south end of the island.41 He had 2 sons. 311,41 He died before 1829. 311 He was a witness to his brother Joseph’s wedding to Hannah Singletary on 8 Jan 1795 in New Providence, Nassau, Bahamas. He was known as "little Billy” in the family diary of Sarah Eve of Philadelphia ca 1740-1790. 41

William Eve was born circa 1757 in Philadelphia. It is believed he died in Georgia date unknown. His father was Oswell Eve (1)
He married Mary Clarke of Charleston (in about 1780). They had the following children.
• William (11) - born about 1785.
• Joseph C (12) - born about 1790. He married Jane Ringland on the 26th Jan 1825 in Richmond County, Georgia. 295

He was Mary's second husband and a planter and a neighbor on the island of St. Salvador (Cat Island) Bahamas. In December 1783, a Miles McInnes (at that time living in London) put in a memorial claim as a Loyalist referring to his prior residence in North Carolina and his imprisonment in South Carolina and Florida during the Revolution.
