Robert
Taylor Walker
left a family Bible, and copies of pages were provided
by Roger Denton Walker, a descendant. The pages are in
the possession of Anita Ayer; the location of the Bible itself,
if it still exists, is unknown. The last
page here is a fragment from Roger of unknown origin.
Publication information is unknown, and entries do
not seem to be contemporaneous with the actual events.

Analysis
On principle as with all records, an analysis for error
is appropriate, especially as the entries do not appear
to be contemporaneous to the events. Since the Bible
was a family record and not known to be used in a legal
proceding, there is no need to analyze for potential
fraud.
The marriage date of Robert Taylor Walker and Louisa
Francis Capps matches the entry in the Grainger County,
Tennessee, marriage book for the era, including the
fact that William Haynes performed the ceremony. The
William Haynes in question was probably the William
who was brother to Mary
(Haynes) Walker, but, in any case, was likely
of the Haynes family of Grainger County, near Walker's
Ford, Union County, which is tied to several branches
of this Walker family.
The marriages of Emma Catherine Walker to Edmon
Lee Phillips and Frances Marion Walker to Lulah Phillips
match the entries on opposing pages in the Robertson
County, Tennessee, marriage books, a location of one
of the Springfields in Tennessee. Coincidentally,
W.A. Haynes performed those ceremonies there; his
identity or possible connect to the Grainger County
Haynes family is unknown.
Ancestry.com images for Henderson County, Kentucky,
are incomplete at this writing, but an index entry
confirms the date and location of the marriages of
John Henry Hess to Louisa Margaret Walker.
County records have not yet been checked for the
marriages of Annie Dell Walker to Henry H. Iler, Jacob
A. Walker to Lou Etta Sandefur, and Katye M. Hess
to Gertie McFarland.
The month and year of birth of Francis Marion Walker
match the 1900 Census; his son Marion's World War
1 draft registration card puts Francis's death in
Grainger County, matching the Bible.
The birth date for Emma Catherine Walker matches
the one on her death certificate, although the death
certificate places the birth in Claiborne County.
At the moment, Grainger County is assumed to be correct
based upon the other children and the likelihood that
the family lived near the Claiborne and/or Union County
borders and would have spoken more of the ancestral
community in Claiborne County rather than Grainger.
The birth date for Louisa Francis Walker matches
the one on her death certificate, although the death
certificate places the birth in Tennessee. Census
records uniformly place her birth in Kentucky, so
the Bible entry is considered here to be correct;
the year matches her tombstone.
The birth date for Jacob A. Walker matches his World
War 1 draft registration and the Social Security Death
Index; the year matches his tombstone, and Census
records place his birth in Tennessee.
Census records place Annie Dell Walker's birth in
Tennessee but vary on the date. The 1900 Census indicates
April 1881, while the 1880 Census, taken shortly after
her birth, gives March 1880, which confirms the Bible
date.
The birth date for James Duetta Walker is the same
as the one he gave on his World War 1 draft registration;
Census records vary as to whether he was born in Tennessee
or Kentucky; the Bible record is presumed to be correct.
There are no known independent sources to corroborate
the dates or locations for Roma A. or Robert Esca
Walker.
The birth date of John Roscoe Garner Walker matches
his tombstone.
The month, year, and state match the 1900 Census
for both Amanda E. Walker and Mary Hattie Bell Walker.
There are no known independent sources to corroborate
the death dates of John Wesley and Lucinda (Campbell)
Walker, although the dates here are consistent with
known data.
The death date of Robert Taylor Walker matches his
death certificate.
Although corroborating evidence likely exists, none
has been examined for the deaths of Louisa Francis
(Capps) Walker and James Duetta Walker.
The death date of Lou Etta (Sandefur) Walker in
the Bible is one day earlier than the death certificate;
the death certificate date is currently considered
to be correct.
