If you are even remotely connected to Edward B. Walker,
please contact me; I am interested in all branches of
the family and especially in the central collection
of copies of all key family stories, documents, and
photographs.
If you don't know of any connection, still feel free
to contact me about anything and everything, but unless
your lines connect ultimately in certain counties in
upper East Tennessee (Claiborne/Hancock/Union or Cocke/Sevier/Jefferson)
or you connect to anyone in my Family
File,
I probably do not have much information to help you.
For information on a number of Walker families in the
broader area of upper East Tennessee and southwestern
Virginia, visit the Walker
ShortList Portal.
About Me
I have been researching this Walker branch as a hobby
since the late 1980s, albeit not continuously. For the
record, I am descended from Edward B. Walker through
his son Edward Jr., his son Jacob Shuff Walker, his
son Andrew Calvin Walker, his son Paris Clyde Walker
Sr., and his son Paris Clyde Walker, my late father.
Despite the intense focus of research on the Claiborne
County area, my side of the family left there about
1890, before the birth of my grandfather, when Andrew
got his medical degree shortly after his own father
died. I myself was born and raised in Chattanooga and
knew nothing at all about the area, although I have
visited several times at this point. I actually come
from a line of Walkers who never knew their own grandfathers,
and practically everything I know has been through research,
not from immediate family.
