Dear
Sir I enclose to the department the Declaration of Mrs. Jane
Walker under the act of 7th July 1838 and such evidence as
we think will remove all doubts in the case
1st The Deposition of Johnathan Walker
which will explain the doubts about his former depositions and Register
2nd The affidavit of Joseph Walker
which from his age will prove the Register correct;
3rd The Register now taken from the family bible which was not
in the possession of Mrs. Walker
at the time she made her first Declaration
4th The opinion of the Court in support of the character of Mrs.
Walker and the character of her two sons the witnesses; which
opinion of the Court was made on the evidence of Divers; Witnesses
of the most respectable characters in the County introduced in open
Court; the Concurant [sic] opinion of the Court with that of Mr.
Richie the Magistrate before whom the Declaration was made
and would Refer the department also to the HonblW
F Center our Representative in Congress for the character
of the persons concerned That is Mrs.
WalkerJohnathan Walker
and Joseph Walker it unnecessary
for me to notice an thing further[.] Pleas [sic] inform me early
as practicable on the subject of the decision by the department
and very much oblige[.] your most obedient servant
